Jujutsu Kaisen Culling Game Part 2 key visual with a red clawed hand reaching out and Sukuna's face in shadow behind it

You have watched the latest Jujutsu Kaisen episode, the credits roll, and the next season has no date. Now you want that same hit: fights that feel dangerous, monsters that are scary and a bit funny, and a cast you would hate to lose. The closest matches are Chainsaw Man, Dandadan and Bleach, and the seven picks below cover every other thing Jujutsu Kaisen does well. We say what each show shares with it and where it differs, so you can pick by mood and not by genre label.

The short version

  • Closest in feel: Chainsaw Man (the same studio, devils and gore) and Bleach (a hidden world of spirit fighters).
  • For the funny, weird side of the supernatural: Dandadan and Mob Psycho 100.
  • For monsters with a human side: Tokyo Ghoul and Kaiju No. 8.
  • For a long, classic adventure: Yu Yu Hakusho, Hunter x Hunter and Black Clover.
  • For a demon-fighting school hero: Blue Exorcist.
  • Where to watch: it changes by service and region, so check your streaming service for each title.

What makes Jujutsu Kaisen work (and what to look for next)

Jujutsu Kaisen follows Yuji Itadori, a high school student who swallows a cursed finger and becomes the host of the ancient curse Ryomen Sukuna. He joins a hidden society of sorcerers to destroy it. Gege Akutami wrote the manga, MAPPA animates it, and the series has aired three seasons: Season 1 in 2020 and 2021, Season 2 in 2023 and Season 3, The Culling Game Part 1, in early 2026. A fourth season, Part 2, is announced with no release date yet.

So what are you actually chasing? Three things. Stylish, high-stakes fights with their own rules, a world of hidden monsters and a cast whose jokes and grief both land. Every pick below hits at least two of those, in rough order of how closely it matches. The order is our judgement, not a ranking from a source.

1. Chainsaw Man

Best for: fans who want the same studio, the same devils and the same bite.

Denji, a poor teenager, fuses with the Chainsaw Devil Pochita and ends up in a government unit that hunts devils. Tatsuki Fujimoto wrote the manga and MAPPA made the 12-episode TV series in late 2022. The film Chainsaw Man: The Movie, Reze Arc opened in Japan in September 2025.

It is the pairing most lists reach for first, and for good reason: both are MAPPA shows about people fighting supernatural threats with real losses. Chainsaw Man is messier, funnier and more shocking, so expect more swearing and gore than you get in Jujutsu Kaisen.

2. Dandadan

Best for: fans of the weird, funny side of Jujutsu Kaisen.

Momo Ayase and Ken "Okarun" Takakura bet over whether ghosts or aliens are real, and both turn out to be right. Momo gains psychic powers and Okarun is possessed by a spirit. Yukinobu Tatsu wrote the manga and Science Saru animates it: Season 1 aired in late 2024 and Season 2 in the middle of 2025, with a third season announced for 2027.

It shares the idea that the supernatural world is dangerous and ridiculous at once. If your favourite Jujutsu Kaisen moments were Gojo being Gojo, start here.

3. Bleach

Best for: fans of a teenager pulled into a hidden world of fighters.

Ichigo Kurosaki gains Soul Reaper powers and defends people from evil spirits called Hollows. Tite Kubo wrote the manga and Pierrot made the original anime, 366 episodes from 2004 to 2012. Thousand-Year Blood War returned in October 2022 and has aired in four parts, the last in 2026.

Dexerto lists Bleach for Jujutsu Kaisen fans because a young hero is pulled into a hidden supernatural world, as Yuji is. It is flashier and its cast is huge. Because Thousand-Year Blood War has finished airing, you can now watch it without waiting.

4. Mob Psycho 100

Best for: fans of the teacher and student bond.

Shigeo "Mob" Kageyama is a middle schooler with huge psychic powers who tries to keep his emotions in check, and works for the con-man spirit medium Arataka Reigen. One wrote the manga and Bones animated three seasons: 2016, 2019 and 2022, 37 episodes in total.

Dexerto points to the mentor relationship as the link to Yuji and Gojo. It is lighter than Jujutsu Kaisen, but the fights are spectacular and the heart is real.

5. Tokyo Ghoul

Best for: fans who like monsters that look like us.

In an alternate Tokyo, ghouls live among people in secret. Ken Kaneki becomes a half-ghoul after an encounter with one and has to live in both worlds. Sui Ishida wrote the manga and Pierrot animated Tokyo Ghoul in 2014, Tokyo Ghoul √A in 2015 and Tokyo Ghoul:re in 2018.

It has the dread of a hidden monster world, and Dexerto notes it is much gorier. Keep it for a night when you want something bleak and slow.

6. Kaiju No. 8

Best for: fans of a hero who hides a monstrous power.

Kafka Hibino gains the ability to turn into a kaiju and hides it while trying to join the Anti-Kaiju Defense Force, to keep a promise to his childhood friend. Naoya Matsumoto wrote the manga and Production I.G animated Season 1 in 2024 and Season 2 in 2025. A concluding film, The Final Mission, is set for 2027.

It is a modern, big-budget fighter with a hero who is both hunter and secret monster, like Yuji carrying Sukuna. The tone is more heroic and less grim.

7. Blue Exorcist

Best for: fans of a school for fighting the supernatural.

Rin Okumura learns he and his twin brother are sons of Satan, then enrols at True Cross Academy to train as an exorcist. Kazue Kato wrote the manga. The anime began in 2011 and its fourth season finished in March 2025, and the manga continues.

It is the nearest thing to Jujutsu Kaisen's school setting: a student with a dangerous power inside him, learning to fight alongside classmates. It is more earnest and less sarcastic.

8. Yu Yu Hakusho

Best for: fans who want the grandfather of the genre.

Teenage delinquent Yusuke Urameshi dies saving a child, is revived and becomes an Underworld Detective who investigates demon and ghost activity. Yoshihiro Togashi wrote the manga, and Pierrot's anime ran 112 episodes from 1992 to 1995.

You can see its fingerprints on Jujutsu Kaisen and most of the shows here: a rough-edged hero, a spirit world and tournament-style fights. The animation looks older, but the story holds up.

9. Black Clover

Best for: fans of a never-give-up hero and big team fights.

Asta is born without magic in a world where everyone has it, and aims to become the Wizard King with his anti-magic grimoire and the Black Bulls. Yuki Tabata wrote the manga and Pierrot made 170 episodes from 2017 to 2021, plus a 2023 film. A second season premiered on 3 October 2026.

It is brighter and far more hopeful than Jujutsu Kaisen. Pick it when you want a hero who refuses to quit and a squad you cheer for.

10. Hunter x Hunter

Best for: fans who loved the dark arcs and tender-hearted heroes.

Gon Freecss leaves Whale Island to become a Hunter and find his father. Yoshihiro Togashi wrote the manga, and Madhouse made the 148-episode anime from 2011 to 2014. Dexerto links it to Jujutsu Kaisen because of its dark arcs and playful, tender-hearted leads, the same mix as the Shibuya arc.

It is not about curses, but it builds power systems and fights as cleverly as anything above. It is long, finished and rewards patience.

Which one should you watch first?

Teacher and student Mob Psycho 100 Mentor bond, great fights
A hidden monster world Tokyo Ghoul Dark and slow

A finished classic Yu Yu Hakusho Spirit detective, tournaments
