Updated 20 October 2026, after episode 2. We'll keep this guide current as new episodes and details land.
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is already out in Australia. It premiered in Japan on Sunday 11 October 2026, and Crunchyroll streams it here with English subtitles, with a new episode each week. If you searched for the release date and found guides still saying it "premieres soon", you're not alone. We stock the Dragon Ball range and follow every announcement, so this page is the Australian version: what time episodes land on our side of the world, where to watch, which arcs it covers and what Toei still hasn't confirmed.
The short version
- Out now: episode 1 aired on Sunday 11 October 2026 on Fuji TV in Japan.
- Australian time: new episodes air Sundays at 11:15pm in Japan, which is 1:15am Monday in Sydney and Melbourne (AEDT).
- Where to watch in Australia: Crunchyroll (subtitled, from 11 October), and Netflix Australia also lists the series.
- What it is: an enhanced remake of the start of Dragon Ball Super, with re-rendered footage and a rebuilt story.
- Not confirmed yet: the official episode count and an English dub date.
When does Dragon Ball Super: Beerus come out in Australia?
It's already out. The first episode aired on Sunday 11 October 2026 at 11:15pm Japan time on Fuji TV and its affiliates, according to Anime News Network.
That Japanese time is 1:15am AEDT on Monday in Sydney and Melbourne. Japan is UTC+9 and AEDT is UTC+11, so Japanese Sunday night becomes very early Monday for most of us. Brisbane is on AEST all year, so it's 12:15am Monday there.
New episodes follow weekly in the same Sunday slot. Episode 2, "The God of Destruction Heads to the Planet of the Kai", aired on Sunday 18 October, which was early Monday 19 October in Sydney.
Where can you watch Dragon Ball Super: Beerus in Australia?
You've got two options right now:
- Crunchyroll: the joint Toei Animation and Crunchyroll announcement lists Australia and New Zealand among the regions streaming the series with subtitles from 11 October 2026.
- Netflix: Netflix Australia's own title page lists Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, rated M, in Japanese with English subtitles. Netflix hasn't published an Australian schedule, so episodes can arrive later than on Crunchyroll. In the US, Netflix scheduled its start for 17 October 2026, six days after the Japanese premiere.
Both are Japanese audio with English subtitles. No English dub date has been announced.

Your weekly watch guide (AEDT)
| What | Japan | Sydney and Melbourne (AEDT) |
|---|---|---|
| Fuji TV broadcast | Sunday 11:15pm | Monday 1:15am |
| Crunchyroll | Same day as Japan | Monday, after the broadcast |
| Netflix Australia | Not applicable | Listed, no schedule published |
How to never miss one: add Dragon Ball Super: Beerus to your Crunchyroll watchlist, turn on new-episode notifications, then watch Monday after work instead of staying up past 1am. The spoilers start trending on Monday morning, so mute "Beerus" for a day if you can't watch straight away.
What is Dragon Ball Super: Beerus?
It's not a sequel. It's an enhanced edition of the start of Dragon Ball Super, which first aired from July 2015 to March 2018 over 131 episodes.
Toei's announcement lists what's new:
- Extensive new cuts and revisions to existing scenes
- A complete re-rendering of all footage
- Newly recorded audio, with added score and sound effects
- A full reconstruction of the story, with battle scenes getting the biggest upgrade
The early episodes of the original Super are remembered for uneven animation (episode 5 was redrawn for the home release), so this is the version of the God of Destruction story a lot of fans have wanted for years. The remake was announced at Dragon Ball's 40th anniversary event in January 2026.
Which arcs does Dragon Ball Super: Beerus cover?
Reports say it covers at least the first three story arcs of Dragon Ball Super, and the premiere opened with the Battle of Gods story. Here's what those arcs are:

| Arc | What happens |
|---|---|
| God of Destruction Beerus | Beerus wakes up looking for a Super Saiyan God, and Goku has to become one. This retells the Battle of Gods film. |
| Golden Frieza | Frieza is revived and returns for revenge with a new golden form. This retells the Resurrection 'F' film. |
| Universe 6 | Beerus's twin brother Champa challenges Universe 7 to a tournament. |
That means Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan Blue get their big debuts again. Our Goku transformations ranking explains where those forms sit.
Who's making it?
From Anime News Network's report on the staff:
- Composition and direction arrangement: Matsuto Seya
- Character design and general animation director: Tadayoshi Yamamuro
- Music: Norihito Sumitomo
- Beerus: Kōichi Yamadera, returning to the role
Theme songs
- Opening: "ONOGAMI" by MEGATERA・ZERO
- Ending: "Kan Peki No Peki" by VK Blanka
Do you need to watch anything before Beerus?
Not really. The story starts "several years" after the battle against Majin Buu, so knowing Dragon Ball Z helps, but the first arc is built to introduce Beerus from scratch.
